PLASMA, LCD, HDTV???? Which can be mounted? Cheapest?

We are looking for a TV that can be mounted above a fireplace on the wall. I have no idea what the difference in plasma, lcd, and hdtv is?? Can they all be mounted? Which ones are usually cheaper??
