Chemistry Lab: Acid rain: Sulphuric acid or hydrochloric acid?!?

the reaction would be somewhat different for acid rain ( contains sulfuric and nitric acids ) as nitric acid is a decent oxidizing agent while dilute HCl nor sulfuric oxidize very well. There are also some solubility of products issues as sulfates and nitrates have different solubility profiles in many cases compared to chlorides. All are 100% ionized strong acids so at least the pH per se would be quite similar.
