What am I going to do about my friends?

I have got an amazing job oppertunity and had to move about half an hour away from where all my friends are. When I got the job they promised to come see me from time to time, but as soon as I moved up here they changed their mind and say they haven't got the money/feel uncomfortable in someone else's house etc when I know they are just excuses because they make a lot more than me. I always end up going down there and it is costing me too much but they still moan that I don't make the effort!!! even my boyfriend changed his mind about coming up to see me and wants me to go down to plymouth all the time and it isn't fair. What can I do? am I being out of order to want them to come see me sometimes?
