Need help with Electoral College essay.?

In the year 2000 Al Gore won the popular vote but lost the election. True The reason why is the Electoral College. The reason for the Electoral College is that if we went by just the popular vote is that the ones that are running for President will only go to the most populated areas which are San Diego, L.A., San Fransisco, New York City, Chicago, Houston, and Miami. They will never show up anywhere else because they know that they would not need them come election time. If Al gore would have won the election back then. where would we be? How many more attacks would we have had since 9/11/2001? Al Gore would have ran to the nearest cave and crawled in it. and the same way with Katrina. Nothing would have been done. True Al Gore won the popular vote but George W. Bush was the right man for the Job. If the 2000 election was the other way around the Democrats would have been singing it's praises.
